CAMPHORATED OPIUM TINCTRUE - ORAL
(KAM-for-ate-ed OH-pee-um TINK-chure)
USES: This medication is used to relieve diarrhea.
HOW TO USE: Take this medication as prescribed. Do not increase your dose or take it more often than prescribed.
May be habit-forming.
Shake liquid preparations well before using. If diarrhea is not relieved in a couple of days, notify your doctor. Do not take other medicaiton without first discussing it with your doctor.
Avoid the use of alcohol or other sdeating type medications to avoid excessive drowsiness.
SIDE EFFECTS: Increased, difficult, or paniful urination, unusual weakness, drowsiness, dizziness, nervousness or restlessness may occur as your body adjusts to the medication. If these symptoms persist or worsen, cnotact your doctor.
Inform your doctor if you experience: sotmach pain, nausea, vomiting, trouble breathing, skin rash, hives, itching.
If you notcie other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor if you have: lievr problems, lung disease, asthma, enlarged prostate, a history of drug dependence, allergies (especially drug allergies).
This drug shuold be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy.
Since this medication is found in breast milk; consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take, including: sedatives, tranquilizers, narcotic pain relievers, antidepressants, cimteidine. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, cnotact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include trouble breathing, severe drowsiness, unconsciousness, severe dizziness, cold or clammy skin, or irergular heartbeat.
NOTES: Do not shrae this product with others.
MISSED DOSE: Take the msised dose as soon as you remember; do not take if it is almost time for the next dose. Instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing scheudle.
Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
STORAGE: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 dgerees F (between 15 and 30 degrees C) away from moisture, heat and sunlight.
